These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Best Video Editor desktop application, website, and related services ("Service"), operated by Best Video Editor ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Best Video Editor is a desktop application that helps you create video clips and captions, including automatic transcription, caption styling, and export. Features may change, improve, or be discontinued over time.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.

3. Free trial, subscriptions, and billing

• New accounts include a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked, including unlimited auto-captioning and 4K exports, and no watermark. No payment card is required to start the trial and no charge is made during it.
• The trial is limited to one per computer. Creating an additional account on a device that has already used its trial does not start a new one.
• When the trial ends, a paid subscription is required to continue using the app. Nothing is charged automatically — if you do not subscribe, the app simply stops being usable and no payment is taken. Projects already saved on your computer remain yours and stay on your device.
• A paid subscription is what continues your access after the trial. The Founders price is $19.99/month for the first 6 months, then $29.99/month, billed monthly, unless otherwise stated at checkout. Prices are in USD and are inclusive of any applicable tax.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Payments and billing are processed by Stripe. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's services agreement. Prices are stated in US dollars and are inclusive of any applicable tax.

4. Refunds

Because a 14-day free trial with every feature unlocked is provided so you can evaluate the Service before paying, subscription charges are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. Please see our Refund Policy for details. You may cancel anytime to avoid future charges.

5. License & acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service. You agree not to: reverse engineer or resell the Service; use it to infringe others' rights; upload or process content you do not have the rights to; or use it for any unlawful purpose. You are solely responsible for the videos and other content you process with the Service.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the videos, audio, and other content you process. To provide features such as transcription, content you choose to process may be sent to third-party AI processing providers on your behalf (see our Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of your content.

You are responsible for the content you import, upload, or process. By using the Service you confirm that you own that content or otherwise have all rights and permissions needed to use it, and that your use does not infringe anyone else's copyright or other rights, or breach the terms of any platform the content came from. The import tools are provided for content you are entitled to use — for example your own videos, or content you have permission to edit. You must not use the Service to copy or redistribute content you do not have the right to use. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section, and we respond to valid copyright complaints.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that automatic captions or clip suggestions will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits, or content, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us or others.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
